The Maple Grove Restoration Committee holds regular meetings in the Community Room of Building 1 at Saint Simeon, 9 Hilltop Court (formerly 24 Beechwood Avenue) Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, at 8:30am on the third Thursday of every month.
Anyone interested in assisting in the efforts to preserve Maple Grove is welcome to attend.
The Maple Grove Committee is seeking volunteers to assist in the following initiatives:
- Spring Preservation Week Event planning
- Assist with planning and organizing of Second Annual Renovation/Restoration Workshop
- Exhibiting and demonstrating at Restoration Workshop
- Research funding sources
- Fundraising
- Grant writing
- Ongoing stabilization and maintenance projects around the estate
- Member and donor database planning and development
- Update donor mailing list.
- Organizing and/or assisting with mailings
- Writing press releases
- Collecting oral history on the South Road estates
- Developing exhibits
- Leading tours of the mansion
- Planning or performing in a 19th century American music concert fundraiser
- Telling the Maple Grove story with a speaker's bureau slide show and taking it on the road
- Restoring the gardens of Maple Grove
- Maples of Maple Grove: Maintaining and replanting the estate's grand maple lined drive
- Planning, designing and maintaining a nature trail on the grounds of Maple Grove
- Stabilizing and restoring Maple Grove's agricultural buildings
- Digitize Photographs
- Research family history
- Assist with the end of the year appeal for funds
